Lučić was named Most Valuable Player of the 2007 Memorial Cup after tallying seven points in five games and helping the Giants win the 2007 Memorial Cup.
On August 2, 2007, Lučić signed an entry-level contract with the Bruins. Later that month, he was named captain of Team Canada for the 2007 Super Series against Russia.
Lucic played in his first NHL game on October 5, 2007, in a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars. He played for 6:53 and received a 5-minute major for fighting. His first goal came against the Los Angeles Kings a week later, on October 12, while recording a Gordie Howe hat trick during the same game.
On October 26, 2007, the Boston Bruins decided to keep Lučić on their roster, thus not sending him back to junior with the Vancouver Giants for the rest of the 2007-08 NHL season.
Milan, the son of Dobrivoje Lučić and Snežana Kesa, has a younger brother, Nik, and an older brother, Jovan. His maternal uncle, Dan Kesa, played for the Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars.
